time for a beer

D and I fancied - never mind that it was Monday - a beer. The only place to go for such a thing is the Gardener's Arms. This is a terrible picture, invaded by a shrub, but it was darker than it looks and in those circumstances, a handy wall is the best place to shoot from. eh?

I have been post-processing the pictures that I took yesterday afternoon for Mikol's business venture. She has been building up a stock of necklaces in preparation for a website launch and speaking to some local craft shops. Eventually. In the mean time I have been messing around with lighting, Nikon Capture, raw files, but no necks. So, how does the necklace look?

...Mikol goes away for a few days to a conference and everything just goes to pot round here. I am not going to explain this picture, but needless to say D and I were doing nerdy stuff with wires and software. mmmmm raw files.

It was a little late to blog on Saturday by the time we got home from Jazz and Liza's. So Sunday is going to have to be a two picture day to make up. This was taken at 450mm equivalent with the (other) cheap zoom. Wow, the moon is closer than I thought...

Ahh, the joys of British weather. I set of from home this morning in glorious sunshine and the weather has been to black-over-Bill's-mothers and back to clear blue at least once since then. Yesterday we had hail for lunch.

From under the glass table, red wine in a decanter. This was at dinner on a nice Friday. Because Friday evening is nice.

This is the Wilberforce Building, University of Hull. It is where I spent several hours during my degree course. It is also outstandingly ugly, so much so that it is a listed building.

What a great guy. He has the right bag, a rather different but rather nice camera and more to the point he is a wonderful food providing, Mac fixing, post processing, Adelphi club going slightly barmy friend. We went and took pictures - again - and it was fun. Tomorrow is going to be another good day.
